The purpose of the foundation is to help finance the construction, remodeling, or purchase of church building or ministry facilities for Evangelical Free Church of Canada congregations across all five districts.
The foundation provides a means for God’s people to invest their money in promoting the Lord’s work and at the same time earn a fair return with adequate security. Deposits carry a five-year rate of return, presently set at 2% (subject to change).
Since 1979 (the year of the first loans), the Trust Foundation has granted 48 loans in amounts from $14,000 to $2.385 million, totaling $16,773,720 to July 2018. Only member congregations of the EFCC and their ministry partners can qualify for loans.
