Prairie District
The Prairie District of the Evangelical Free Church of Canada includes 33 churches in southern Alberta and all of Saskatchewan. These churches are located in rural and urban environments, with worship services ranging from 10 people to over 1,400 congregants.
Purpose
The Prairie District exists to nurture the establishment and health of Evangelical Free churches in Saskatchewan and southern Alberta.

The Prairie District fulfills its purpose by cultivating authentic relationships, discerning healthy direction, and resourcing churches and leaders.

Values
- Biblical Authority: submitting our thoughts and ways to God’s Word
- Holy Spirit Dependence: relying on the enabling and leading of God’s Spirit as we pray and express His gifting
- Authentic Relationships: connecting with others for encouraging care and ministry partnership

Developing and Equipping
Healthy Pastors
PDEFCC supports pastors and ministry staff who are critical in the work of teaching, encouraging and equipping God's people for service in the world. We provide the following:
- Annual staff and spouse retreat
- Ongoing, intentional coaching and counsel
- Prayer support
- Regional ministerial meetings for the purpose of encouragement and prayer
- Resourcing and networking
Healthy Churches
Though each of our local churches is autonomous in its ability to self-govern, they share a like-minded, inter-dependent purpose with their sister churches within the EFCC. We provide a number of resources to our local churches:
- Consultation and church revitalization
- Resourcing and leadership development
- Assistance in pastoral search and placement
- Quality control through credentialing
- Protection policies and legal advice
- Prayer support and networking
Healthy Church Plants
The ongoing development of church plants is critical to the fulfilment of Jesus' Great Commission. And this is one of the huge benefits of working together as a movement of churches: independently governed churches choosing to work together are able to do far more than they could do on their own. It's our desire in the Prairie District to see:
- Evangelism driven church plants
- Co-operative efforts through the development of prayer and financial resources
- Church planter assessments
- Ongoing coaching
